Saruman is a beautifully rendered figure with superb detailing. Twelve points of articulation mean plenty of playability, and because of the flexible vinyl "clothing," posing the figure is a snap. Accessories fit perfectly (once the stubborn staff has been slid into his grasp), and a small lever on the right side of the figure raises his right arm and staff when pressed. A small magnet in his left hand allows him to "hold" the floating Palantir, or the black orb can be placed between a series of magnets on his accompanying pedestal so that it appears to be floating there. Ball joints in the shoulder allow for smooth movement of arms, and the robe is sculpted so that posing the figure doesn't cause uneven lines.
